Sangfah is an old Trat favourite, now in a new building in Nong Samet. We still serve our Spanish-mackerel fish balls, hoi jo crab rolls and crab-roe chilli dip, with a coffee and cake corner for afterwards.
Our Facebook page calls us Trat's legend of good food, and MGR Online once described Sangfah as one of the original old restaurants of Trat, open for decades and a regular stop for tour groups and travellers.
We used to be in a shophouse on Sukhumvit Road opposite Trat Hospital. We have since moved to a white gabled building at 150 Moo 5, Nong Samet, with a rock garden, an open veranda and parking at the back; please use this new address.
Start with our Spanish-mackerel fish balls (house-made, as MGR Online noted) and golden hoi jo crab rolls, then explore eastern-coast dishes such as crab-roe chilli dip, rakam sour soup, bai liang with egg and chamuang-leaf pork. A coffee and cake corner rounds things off.

Spanish-mackerel fish balls, poached soft and springy, with seafood dip and fresh herbs; MGR Online called them our signature and noted we make them ourselves.

Crab and pork filling wrapped in bean-curd skin and fried golden, with a sweet-sour dip; one of our most popular dishes on Google Maps.
A sour soup with rakam, the tart snake fruit of the eastern provinces; MGR Online singled out the grey-mullet version as hard to find elsewhere. Ask what fish or meat is in today's pot.
Trat has islands such as Ko Chang and Ko Kut, a long coast running down to Khlong Yai near the Cambodian border, and small market towns. The pictures below were taken around Trat, not at the restaurant.
